Who this covers

Wesley D Photography is a sole proprietorship owned and operated by Daniel Walsh, based in Anaheim Hills, California. This policy explains how I handle personal information collected through wesleydphotography.com, through the inquiry and booking forms on this site, and through the lead forms I run on Facebook and Instagram.

By using this site or submitting a form, you agree to what's described here.

What I collect

Information you give me

• Inquiries. When you fill out a contact or session inquiry form, I collect your name, email address, phone number, the type of session you're interested in, your preferred dates and location, and anything else you choose to tell me about your family or your plans.
• Lead forms on Facebook and Instagram. If you respond to one of my ads, Meta passes me the name, email address and phone number attached to your Meta profile, along with your answers to the questions in the form.
• Email list. If you sign up for session announcements, I collect your name and email address.
• Booking and payment. When you book, I collect the details needed for your contract and invoice, including session date and location. Payments are processed by Stripe. I never see or store your full card number.
• Direct messages. Anything you send me by email, text, or social media.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, this one uses cookies and similar technologies. When you visit, information is automatically collected about your device and how you use the site, including your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you view, how long you stay, and the site or ad that sent you here.

Advertising and analytics

I advertise this business on Google, Facebook and Instagram, and I use analytics tools to understand which of those ads actually bring people here. That involves the following.

Google Ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info.

Google Analytics. I use Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use this site. Where its advertising features are enabled, first-party cookies (such as the Google Analytics cookie) are used together with third-party cookies (such as Google advertising cookies) to report on site traffic and to inform the ads shown to people who have visited this site. You can opt out using the links above, or by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Meta Pixel. This site uses the Meta Pixel, which reports actions you take here back to Meta so I can measure how my Facebook and Instagram ads perform and show ads to people who have visited this site. You can control how ads are personalized for you in your Meta ad preferences.

Squarespace. This site is hosted by Squarespace, which sets its own cookies and collects its own analytics about visitors. Their handling of that data is governed by Squarespace's privacy policy.

Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings. If you block cookies, parts of this site may not work as intended.

How I use it

• To reply to your inquiry and answer your questions.
• To plan, schedule and photograph your session, and to deliver your gallery.
• To send contracts, invoices and payment reminders.
• To send session announcements and availability if you asked to hear from me. Every one of those emails has an unsubscribe link.
• To run and measure my advertising, and to understand which ads and pages actually work.
• To keep business records and meet tax and accounting obligations.

Who I share it with

I don't sell your personal information, and I don't rent or trade it. I share it only with the services I use to run this business, and only as far as they need it to do their job:

• Squarespace — website hosting and site analytics.
• HoneyBook — inquiries, contracts, scheduling and invoicing.
• Session — booking, invoicing and gallery delivery.
• Pic-Time — online gallery hosting and delivery.
• Flodesk — email list and session announcements.
• Stripe — payment processing.
• Google and Meta — advertising and analytics, as described above.
• QuickBooks — bookkeeping and accounting.

I may also disclose information if I'm legally required to, or if it's necessary to protect my rights or someone's safety.

Photographs and children

My work involves photographing families, which usually means photographing children. How your photographs may be used — in my portfolio, on this website, on social media, or in advertising — is governed by the session agreement you sign, not by this policy. If you'd prefer your images never be used publicly, tell me and I'll note it on your file. You can ask me to stop using a photograph publicly at any time.

This website is not directed at children, and I don't knowingly collect personal information online from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided me information through this site, contact me and I'll delete it.

How long I keep it

Inquiries that don't turn into bookings are kept for a reasonable period in case you come back. Client records, contracts and invoices are kept as long as needed for business, tax and legal purposes. Email list subscribers are kept until you unsubscribe. Session galleries are kept for the period described in your session agreement.

Your choices

• Email. Unsubscribe from any email I send using the link at the bottom of it.
• Access and deletion. Email me and I'll tell you what I have about you, correct it, or delete it, subject to records I'm required to keep.
• Advertising. Use the Google and Meta opt-out links above, or your browser's cookie settings.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal information, including the right to know what's collected, to request deletion, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. California residents in particular have rights under state privacy law. To exercise any of them, just email me — I'm a one-person business and it goes straight to me.

Security

I use reputable services and reasonable measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, and I can't guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

I'll update this page when my practices or the tools I use change. The date at the top always reflects the current version.
