Kind Words
We are big fans of Daniel! We booked an outdoor session, and we’re thrilled with the results. Daniel brought energy to the day and encouraged fun. If you love a warm, candid family photo, Daniel will capture it.
A Note From Daniel
At family gatherings I’ve always been the one on the floor with the kids rather than standing around with the adults, and that hasn’t changed.
So when your kids get bored of me, or won’t look, or wander off, it doesn’t throw me. That’s the part I like.
Kind Words
We’ve been through the stress of a wedding, me being pregnant, lots of wind, two kids under two, a toddler who wants to run around, a scared dog who won’t look at the camera, and everything in between. And he still got the shot. Daniel captures what you can’t see. His skill set is as wonderful as he is.
You Made It Down
So. Are you all in?
You just scrolled through five other families’ entire afternoons. Nobody does that by accident. Tell me about your crew and we’ll get yours on this page — I reply within a day, usually much sooner.

Family Sessions.
The running, the piling on, the jokes only your family thinks are funny. All of it, exactly as it is right now.
Lightly guided family sessions, built around the way your family already is.

what they were like.
The Sessions
There are two ways to do this, and they make two very different kinds of pictures. Here's how each one feels.

Lifestyle
The Picture Book
The Picture Book is the classic one. You pick a spot that means something to you, and I work out the exact time that spot looks its best.
There's enough time to let everyone warm up, which matters more than people expect. Then we move. Prompts, a few light poses, a game or two when the little ones need one, and we walk the area for different looks along the way. One under sunlit trees, another on a blanket, another wandering by the water.
Fun and dynamic, with enough room in it to still get the shot when your kids are being entirely themselves.

Storytelling
The Side Quest
The Side Quest is a little day in the life. We pick something your family would genuinely do, and then we go do it.
Ice cream and a lap around the park. A slow morning at home making pancakes. An afternoon loose in the Fun Zone at Balboa. It's the least guided of the two, but it isn't unplanned. We give it a map, and once it's moving I mostly hang back and work angles while it happens.
Less a portrait of your family and more a record of a thing you actually did together. It ends up feeling like the photos come alive off the page.

Or we never leave the house.
Either session can happen at your place, and for a lot of families it is quietly the better call. Almost nobody thinks to ask for it.
Your kids are already themselves here. There is no warming up to a room they know.
It is the house you brought them home to, which in ten years will matter more than a pretty backdrop.
Nobody wandering through the shot, no waiting out a crowd, and far less competing for a toddler's attention.
The dog is in the photos, and then the dog is free to go be a dog.
Short on time? The Weekend Matinee — fifteen-minute mini sessions, $295, September 19 through December 5.
