A Note From Daniel
In-home newborn sessions are the quietest thing I do, and I like them that way. I’ll send a short guide beforehand so the house and the clothes are handled, and after that there’s nothing to perform.
Mostly I move around while you feed the baby and talk to your partner, and I stay until it feels done. You don’t have to entertain me.

Impossibly small.
Not for long.
We do these at your place, and that's the whole point. Your light, your bed, the corner of the couch you've basically been living on for two weeks. Nobody has to pack a bag or get anyone into a car seat.
Come as you are. Leave the dishes; I promise they won't end up in the photos. Wear something soft, the kind of thing you'd actually have on at nine in the morning. Turn the heat up a little higher than feels reasonable, because a warm baby is a sleepy baby, and a sleepy baby is a very cooperative one.
Then we just go slow. We feed when they're hungry and stop when they need stopping, and somewhere in all of that I'm photographing the small things. Your hands. Their hands. The way they still curl up like they haven't quite unfolded yet. Big brothers and sisters are welcome, and so is the dog, who will absolutely be in a few of these.
An hour or two, and mostly it just feels like somebody came over.
